How is your gastronomy? Its gastronomy is of an excellent quality, since many of its products have Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), such as sheep and goat from Beira; others have a Denomination of Origin (PDO), such as the Vinhos da DOC “Beira Interior”.

Program

1st Day

  • Arrival at Castelo Branco. Guided tour of the town, where you can learn about its cultural heritage, such as its castle, the wall, the Igreja de São Miguel, the Torre do Relógio or the Paço Episcopal.
  • Lunch in “Cabra Preta” restaurant, where you can taste typical products of the area such as Borrego da Beira IGP.
  • Free afternoon.
  • Dinner at “Palitão Restaurant”, where you can taste typical products of the area, such as the Castelo Branco Cheese and the DOC “Beira Interior” Wines.

2nd Day

  • Breakfast.
  • In the morning you can visit to the Embroidery Interpretation Center and visit to the Silk Museum.
  • Lunch at “Pinguim” restaurant, where you can taste typical products of the area such as Vinos da DOC “Beira Interior” or Borrego da Beira IGP.
  • Free afternoon.
  • Dinner at “Palitão Restaurant”, where you can taste typical products of the area such as the Beira Baixa cheese.

3rd Day

  • Breakfast.
  • Arrival in Idanha-A-Nova. Town located approximately 35 km from Castelo Branco.
  • Guided tour of the Idanha-a-Nova Monumental Complex or the historic Monsanto Village.
  • Lunch at “Helana” restaurant, where you can taste typical products of the area, such as DOC Beira Interior wine.
  • Free afternoon.
  • Dinner at “Baroa” restaurant, we recommend you try different typical products of the area, such as the Picante da Beira Baixa Cheese or the Cabrito da Beira.

4th Day

  • Breakfast.
  • Visit to the Núcleo do Azeite, in Proença-a-Velha, a museum dedicated to the history of olive oil.
  • Lunch in “Helana” restaurant, we recommend you try different typical products of the area, such as Cabrito da Beira or Wine Callum.
  • Dinner at “the Portão Velho” restaurant, where you can taste typical products of the area, such as sausages.

5th Day

  • Breakfast.
  • Arrival in Oleiros. Town located approximately 90 km from Idanha-A-Nova.
  • Guided tour of the town, where you can discover its rich cultural heritage, such as the Igreja da Misericórdia or the Capela de Nossa Senhora Mãe des Homens.
  • Lunch at “Casa Peixoto” restaurant, where you can taste typical local products, such as Borrego da Beira IGP.
  • Free afternoon.
  • Dinner at “Callum” restaurant, we recommend you taste the typical products of the area, such as kid.

6th Day

  • Breakfast.
  • In the morning visit a craft workshop dedicated to making tapestries.
  • Lunch at the “Portinho” restaurant, where you can taste the typical products of the area, such as sausages or Vinho Callum.
  • Free afternoon.
  • Dinner at “Callum” Restaurant, we recommend you taste the typical products of the area, such as cheese.

7th Day

  • Breakfast.
  • Departure to the city of origin.
