CIUDAD RODRIGO
Ciudad Rodrigo is located in the southwest of the province of Salamanca. Do you know how many subregions make it up? It is made up of 4 sub-regions: Los Campos de Agadones, Argañan, Robledo and Yeltes, where you can enjoy their culture, landscapes and gastronomy.
How is your gastronomy? Its traditional cuisine is of excellent quality, having as a basic pillar of its cuisine: chickpeas, beans and potatoes. It also highlights the sausage and meat, but not only that, as a culmination to its tasty food you can add its typical desserts, such as perronillas.
Its wonderful nature, has the Águeda River, which makes it perfect for hiking activities and multiple activities related to water. What will allow you to disconnect from the busy urban life.
VITIGUDINO
The Municipality of Vitigudino is made up of 56 municipalities, and surrounded by natural spaces.
The main activities that support the area are mainly: agriculture, livestock, and to a lesser extent tourism, encouraged by the culture of festivals such as “Los Corpus” and “Ferias”.
The typical gastronomy of Vitigudino is of high quality, highlighting the Ledesma donuts, the revolconas potatoes, the farinato and the chanfaina.

Program
1st Day
- Arrival in Hinojosa de Duero. Free visit around the municipality where you will discover the Hermitage of the Holy Christ of Mercy, the Church of San Pedro, and the Monument to the Sacred Heart.
- Lunch at “El Pendolón” restaurant.
- In the afternoon we will do the Smugglers Route, which leads us to one of the most impressive viewpoints in Las Arribes, El Mirador de la Peña de la Vela. This route has a distance of 6.4 kilometers with a duration of 2 hours.
- Dinner at the “Marcos” Bar Restaurant in Hinojosa de Duero.
- Accommodation at the Posada Real Quinta de la Concepción, in Hinojosa de Duero.
2nd Day
- Breakfast.
- Visit to Lumbrales, a municipality located 28.5 kilometers from Hinojosa de Duero, where we will visit the archaeological museum and El Castro de Yecla La Vieja. The fort of Yecla la Vieja, also known as “El Castillo”, is located a couple of kilometers south of the town of Yecla and constitutes one of the most spectacular pre-Roman fortifications on the Iberian Peninsula.
- Then we will go to San Felices de los Gallegos, a municipality located 39.3 kilometers from Vilvestre, where we will visit the oil museum “El Lagar del Mudo” and the Museo de la Canteria, a theme park in honor of the tradition of stonemasons of the locality.
- Lunch at the “Mesa del Conde” de San Felices de los Gallegos restaurant.
- Dinner at the “Marcos” Restaurant in Hinojosa de Duero.
- Accommodation at the Posada Real Quinta de la Concepción, in Hinojosa de Duero.
3rd Day
- Breakfast.
- Visit to Vitigudino, a municipality located 37.4 kilometers from Hinojosa de Duero. Free visit around the municipality where we can discover the Santo Toribio de Liébana Convent, the Virgen del Socorro Hermitage, Plaza España and the Church of San Nicolás de Bari.
- Lunch at the “Mesón La Calleja” restaurant.
- In the afternoon visit to Barruecopardo, a municipality located 21.7 kilometers from Vitigudino, where we will visit the Castle Viewpoint, the Mineralogy Museum and the parish church of Santa María Magdalena.
- Return to Hinojosa de Duero.
- Dinner at the “Marcos” Bar Restaurant in Hinojosa de Duero.
- Accommodation at the Posada Real Quinta de la Concepción, in Hinojosa de Duero.
4th Day
- Breakfast.
- Departure for Vilvestre, a municipality located 30.02 kilometers from Vitigudino. Free morning to visit the town.
- Lunch at the “El Almendro” restaurant.
- In the afternoon we will visit the Neolithic Workshop, which contains cave paintings, being the second most important workshop found in Europe, the Casa de los Frailes Museum-Library, the Luisa Mill, and La Barca.
- Dinner at “El Rollo” Bar Restaurant.
- Accommodation at La Judería de las Arribes, in Vilvestre.
5th Day
- Breakfast.
- In the morning there will be a hiking route along the Sendero de la Barca. This trail leads travelers along ancient paths to breathtaking views of Las Arribes del Río Duero.
- Lunch at “La Judería de las Arribes”restaurant, in Vilvestre.
- Free afternoon.
- Dinner at the “El Almendro” restaurant.
- Accommodation at La Judería de las Arribes, in Vilvestre.
6th Day
- Breakfast.
- Visit to Aldeadávila de la Ribera, a municipality located 20 kilometers from Vilvestre.
- In the morning there will be a hiking route through the most outstanding viewpoints of the municipality such as; Viewpoint of Rupurupay, Rupitín, Del Fraile and Picón de Felipe and finally we will take a boat trip with the company El Corazón de las Arribes.
- Lunch at “El Paraíso” restaurant, “Tía María” restaurant or “El Portal de las Arribes” restaurant.
- Transfer to Ciudad Rodrigo, a municipality located 75.3 kilometers from Vilvestre, where we will stay. Free time to rest.
- Dinner at the “Estoril” Restaurant in Ciudad Rodrigo.
- Accommodation at the Hotel Conde Rodrigo I.
7th Day
- Breakfast.
- Guided visit in the morning to the Walls and places of interest such as, The Cathedral, The Alcazar Castle of Enrique II (currently Parador), Parador, Roman Bridge or the Capilla de Cerralbo.
- Free time to enjoy the city quietly, if you wish you can visit a museum (Urinal Museum, Vitorino Museum, Diocesan Museum and Cathedral)
- Lunch at “La Muralla“ Restaurant in Ciudad Rodrigo.
- Dinner at “El Zasncandil” restaurant in Ciudad Rodrigo.
- Accommodation at the Hotel Conde Rodrigo I.
8th Day
- Breakfast.
- Travel to Aldea del Obispo and stop in Gallegos de Argañan to visit the Cristo de la Exaltación hermitage (architecturally interesting). Visit to the village Aldea del Obispo, where we can learn about the heritage, as you can be The Church of San Sebastián (beautiful inside) and other elements and historical constructions arranged by the town. Visit to the Interpretation Room of the Real Fuerte de la Concepción, where we will go later.
- Lunch at “El Escuadrón” Restaurant and free time to rest.
- Tour and visit of the El Real Fuerte de la Concepción fortification (together with Ciudad Rodrigo 2 of the points that form part of the Route of the Fortifications).
- We spend the night at the hotel to enjoy this historic place.
- Dinner at “EL Fuerte de la Concepción” hotel, 1.5km from Aldea del Obispo.
9th Day
- Breakfast at Fort de la Concepción.
- Departure to the Campanario de Azaba Biological Reserve, where we can discover the native fauna and flora of the area, with activities for all audiences.
- Then we will go to Robleda where we will eat at the “Los Pinos” restaurant.
- Travel back to our destination.
